Zuo Jia Yan, was born in Guilin. Learnt Chinese calligraphy from folk artists over ten years. That gives her a solid foundation. Later Zuo went to Arts & Crafts Research Institute for further study on Chinese and western fine arts, as well as Chinese calligraphy. Different techniques interact with calligraphy in a congruous way, people could feel the impact of power.
左佳艳，桂林全州人。自幼酷爱书画艺术，师从民间艺术家学习书法，基本功深厚。
在工艺美术研究所期间，对中西绘画理论及书法艺术、美学等进行了系统的研习，熔中西绘画理论与一炉，学习南北画派之技法，因而作品既有北方山水的粗犷与神韵，更兼南派工细与灵秀，绘画水平日臻成熟。同时钟爱各地的书法碑林，反复临习揣摩，书法用笔丰满遵劲，出神入化，人们总能从其书法中感受到一种力量，一种震憾，视为书斋收藏品。
