Guan Zhong Xian's Biography & Awards:

Guan Zhong Xian, 管仲贤（1907—1981），原名管彬，字仲贤，江苏常熟人。在释道画、人物仕女画方面是一个集大成者。在民国时期，管仲贤主要从事释道绘画，在常熟的一些寺庙中都留有他的作品，从他的作品“释迦牟尼像”中可以看出他的释道画确有不同凡响的效果，为同时代的行家所推崇，称之为“庄严妙相”。

管仲贤先生的绘画线条完全继承了正宗的中国画传统技法，表现为行云流水，柔中含刚。他笔力雄健，但不外露，线条的应用完全切合于内容的表现，从而达到形神兼备的艺术效果，被同行们称之为“绵里藏针”。

1966年文化大革命开始，管仲贤擅长的佛教、仕女等画被诬为宣扬封建迷信而受到批判，也因为少年时受到徐瑞恩赏识而受到株连。在文革以后获得平反，经常带病坚持作画不辍。至1981年3月22日逝去，享年75岁。
