Chen Shi's Biography & Awards:
Chen Shi, Han people, born in Jining of Shandong province in Jul. 1958, graduated from Shandong College of Art in 1980. He’s apt at drawing flowers, birds, landscapes and figures with his spiritual thought. Chen’s works are always drawn with vigorous opening mind to create a new idea by basing on the traditional styles and learning from nature. The topics of his paintings about flowers and birds are various, and these paintings are always active and vivid with while the paintings about figures are drawn simply and streamlinedly with the new idea and influent meanings. Many of his works have been collected by Shandong Museum of Art. In 1992, he successfully held a personal calligraphy and painting show in that museum, on this show; many nice works were collected by colleagues interior and abroad. He is now a painter of Shandong Gallery of Art, the professor of the Art Department of Shandong University and a member of Shandong Artist Association.
陈石，男，汉族。1958年7月生于山东济宁。1980年毕业于山东艺术学院。擅长写意花鸟和山水画，又兼人物画。所作山水画，为求气势磅礴、意境开阔，取法传统，外师造化，笔法雄健浑厚，富有新意。他的花鸟画题材广泛，笔墨苍润、意境生动、墨彩亮丽。所作人物画，笔墨简练清逸、线条流畅、构思新颖、寓意深远，格调清新高雅。他的许多人物、花鸟、山水作品被山东省美术馆所收藏。1992年在山东美术馆成功举办了《陈石个人书画作品汇报展》，同时许多优秀作品被国内外美术界同仁所收藏。现为山东画院画师，山东大学美术系课座教授，山东美术家协会会员。
